I have created this blog so that I can (hopefully) make posts as I experience Japan during my three week stay.
As most of you know I was lucky enough to be awarded a Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund (JFMF) scholarship. The purpose of this award is to help promote a mutual appreciation and understanding between the Japanese & American cultures. During my stay in Japan I will be in Tokyo as well as Aomori. During my time in Aomori I will be visiting schools and will have a brief homestay in order to get a better understanding of Japanese life.
I will be flying to San Francisco next week on the 1oth of June. We will all enjoy an orientation during this time, and we will be flying to Japan on the 11th, with our arrival scheduled for the 12th.
I will post more soon. This is more of a trial post, so to speak, to ensure that I have my blog set up correctly.
I really hope that my students, friends and family read and comment this blog while I am in Japan. Please also feel free to leave any questions as well.
